Asperger
The guy who first described Asperger Syndrome in 1944. Awareness of AS only became widespread in recent years. In 1994 it was included in DSM-IV, the official diagnostic manual in the USA.
Asperger Syndrome (AS)
A condition, generally considered to be a type of autism, in which the individual has difficulty in several social skills, including socialising, forming friendship with peers, understanding rules of society, and sometimes in understanding speech. Unlike 'classic' autism, persons with AS have an average or above average intelligence, and no significant speech or motor delays.
